As you may know, the pre-sale for the Living Maya Cards was successful and allowed us to bring this project to reality. Since then, we have sold over 230 decks!
You can now find the Living Maya cards at Avantpop Books, an Independent bookstore in Las Vegas, and soon at Maya Moon Collective, a cacao cafe in San Diego. We are hoping to get the cards into more bookstores and retailers. If you know of any good fits for us, please let us know.
In order to keep up with the project, a Social Media manager, Javier, has joined the Living Maya team. He is a wonderful addition! Our social media presence has been growing, we're up to 660 followers and counting on the Living Maya instagram account.
The Living Maya cards were part of the Ritual of Myth-Making exhibition in San Francisco, California, alongside other indigenous Maya artists. The exhibition closed in March, but you can still experience it virtually here.
The cards were also at the LA Times Festival of Books in April, as part of the Alegria Mobile bookstore which features Latine/x and BIPOC storytellers.

We're also very happy to announce that one of CIELO's founding board members, Marley Najera Gonzalez will be assuming the responsibilities of Board Vice President this year. Marley is a nursing student of Maya' Xinca descent and a talented herbalist (check out her amazing bioregional herbal products).
We are currently looking for more mission driven folks to join our board. Please email us if you are interested or have any leads!
As we continue to grow, we are grateful to you for the support, trust, and also all the generosity you have shown to us and to CEPC Tolimán. In addition to continuing to fund CEPC's staff, CIELO is working with CEPC Tolimán to identify additional funding priorities for the center this year. We will keep you all posted as this develops. Thank you for all your contributions!
